New Idaho legislation to take effect July 1, 2025

When a vehicle or combination of vehicles subject to registration is to be moved on the public highways in the state of Idaho, the department may issue a 120-hour permit in lieu of a registration for any vehicle or combination of vehicles upon payment.
  • 120-hour permits must be purchased prior to the movement of the vehicle on the highway and limited to 3 permits per vehicle per year.
Note: This replaces previous Idaho code that once permitted the purchase of a 120-hour permit at first available location (Port of Entry or Vendor).
